Our first post is close to home as we see it every day. When we travel to work, or look out the office windows in Keilor Road, Essendon.

“Streetscape upgrades on the way to Niddrie”

Moonee Valley “Council will be investing in a range of improvements across the city, including $455,000 worth of upgrades on Keilor Road in Niddrie as part of the 2021-2022 Annual Budget.” Keilor Road is partly in Niddrie before it merges with the Calder Freeway and as residents we know Keilor Road is part of Essendon North.

Just like we as sticklers for detail, accountants know that the Niddrie Safeway shopping centre is in Essendon being east of Hoffmans road and Niddrie shopping strip is in Niddrie being west of Hoffmans Road.

Enough from me here is some more from the Moonee Valley Council’s article of 19 August, 2021.

“Councillor Pierce Tyson visited the Keilor Road shopping precinct in June, and was met with some Frozen characters and excited community members to celebrate this bustling neighbourhood.

The allocated funding is welcomed in the popular Niddrie precinct, especially after a tough 18 months the local businesses have experienced during the pandemic.

Council is dedicated to supporting our community as they recover from the ongoing impacts of COVID-19 and upgrades to the streetscape and shopping precinct on Keilor Road will further enhance the street for businesses and community members.

After careful review of 51 formal public submissions, the new councillor group worked hard to ensure the budget funding reflected community concerns. Economic recovery from the pandemic is a priority to the community, which has been reflected in this budget.”
